Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – Northwest Bank, a full-service financial institution offering a complete line of business and personal banking products, has announced a $300,000 donation to the Hilltop Economic Development Corporation as part of its sponsorship of the Neighborhood Partnership Program in Mt. Oliver. The donation will be disbursed in $50,000 installments over six years, through 2027.
The Mt. Oliver Neighborhood Partnership Program (NPP) is a six-year state tax credit program organized by Mt. Oliver Borough, in partnership with the Hilltop Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) and The Brashear Association. The program works to fund small business activities and other community reinvestment projects.
“We’re thrilled to sponsor such a rewarding program and help provide housing stabilization, human services, commercial district revitalization and additional support to the Mt. Oliver and Knoxville communities,” said Danielle Brown, Mt. Oliver office manager, Northwest Bank. “As a community bank dedicated to making a difference in the places where we live and work, this program perfectly aligns with our mission here at the bank.”
In the first year of its 2021-2027 cycle, the Neighborhood Partnership Program resolved 324 property maintenance issues, provided food, holiday and utility assistance to more than 1,300 individuals and families and supported the opening of six new businesses, among other achievements. The program’s current cycle is sponsored by Northwest Bank, Fragasso Financial Advisors, United Concordia Dental and Giant Eagle.
“This is really important work that impacts lives and is steadily rebuilding the community – we’re so grateful to have such unwavering support from our community bank that’s located right here in the Borough,” says Rick Hopkinson, the Mt. Oliver Borough manager.
