Northwest Bank Welcomes Robert Cornelius as Community Lending Officer in Buffalo, New York


BUFFALO, NEW YORK, JANUARY 17, 2025 – Northwest Bank, a full-service financial institution offering a complete line of business and personal banking solutions, has appointed Robert Cornelius as regional vice president, community lending officer. Rocco Diina, senior vice president, head of mortgage sales, made the announcement. 

In this role, Cornelius will originate new CRA-qualifying residential mortgage and small business relationships across the Buffalo market and serve as a liaison between the bank and local community organizations, including the Belmont Financial Education Center and Habitat for Humanity Buffalo.

A Buffalo native, United States Army veteran and Alfred University graduate, Cornelius has worked in banking since 2016.   Active in his community, he has been publicly recognized for his efforts serving with programs and organizations like the Juneteenth Youth Committee, WUFO Radio Station Community Outreach Program, Movies in the Park at MLK Park, KeyBank Neighbors Day at the Delavan/Grider Community Center as well as speaking at Sankofa Days on the importance of developing good financial habits.
